Kavcom is proud to announce a licensing deal to develop and publish The Lighthouse, an original game by veteran games designer, Stuart Burrows.

The Lighthouse is a unique 3D collision avoidance game, featuring cutting edge visuals that push the iPad2 to its limits, to create a highly atmospheric and evocative environment. When darkness falls, only the sentinel lighthouse with its guiding light, stands between your vessels and the raging elements, razor edged rocks and fearsome creatures of the deep. Remastered iPad and iPhone enhanced versions of the classic action strategy title released today on the App Store through digital publisher Kavcom

The long-awaited 21st Century reissue of The Bitmap Brothers’ classic action real-time strategy title Z is finally unleashed today on the iPad by digital publisher Kavcom. Z The Game is a faithful and thoroughly modern reworking of the seminal Bitmap title, retaining its offbeat comedy and addictive real-time strategy game play, but adding a streamlined touch-screen interface for the iPad that offers players unprecedented smooth control of the two war-ravaged robot armies.

Z The Game for iPad and iPhone packs in the full campaign with 20 explosive levels, five planets, 30 minutes of cut scenes and full Game Center integration.

On its original release in 1996, Z: The Game was given 8/10 by EDGE Magazine, which commented that, “the computer rivals the best non-human opponents strategy games have ever seen…the attention to detail is remarkable,” while PC Zone awarded 92% and a Classic Award, saying the game was, “like Command & Conquer, only harder, more strategic and more intense.”

Z: The Game was developed by original creators The Bitmap Brothers (Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe, Xenon) in conjunction with Kavcom, Peter Harrap (Monty Mole) and TickTock Games.

Burn Zombie Burn! available now on Apple Mac

Kavcom and doublesix games launch the zombie-destroying global hit on the Apple Mac App Store with extensive control options and in-game player guide

Digital publisher Kavcom has announced that doublesix games’ action-packed undead-shooter Burn Zombie Burn! is out now on the Apple Mac App Store. Burn Zombie Burn! for Apple Mac features extensive control options to play the game in addition to mouse and keyboard, including PlayStation 3 DualShock wireless controller, Xbox 360 wired controller, iShock gamepad and BZB Gamepad – an iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad free-to-download gamepad app.

Burn Zombie Burn! is an action-packed arcade shooter where you take on the role of Bruce, a character who has to fight off a never-ending horde of undead attackers with increasingly bizarre weaponry including chainsaws, baseball bats and mega machine guns. To score high, you will have to set fire to as many zombies as possible – the more zombies on fire, the bigger your multiplier – but be careful, burning zombies are faster and much more dangerous.

“Apple Mac gamers will be able to experience the full, manic zombie-killing mayhem with an unprecedented choice of controllers,” said Managing Director of Kavcom, Tony Kavanagh. “The integration of the free BZB Gamepad iPhone and iPod Touch app has worked especially well on Apple Mac, and you’ll also be able to play effortlessly using a range of existing popular console gamepads.”

Burn Zombie Burn! was awarded 88% by GameZone who said: “what a zombie-killer game should be…offering all the creativity, hilarity, and destruction any gamer could ask for and then some!” and was also branded “great” by IGN and given a stellar 83% score. “A good time all round,” said 1UP who also scored the game with a whopping 83%.

Kavcom has announced an exclusive licensing deal with doublesix games for Burn Zombie Burn! Kavcom will bring iOS App Store versions of the PlayStation 3 hit to Apple Mac in May and then iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch in Q2 2011. Check out the Mac and Mobile mini site here.

21st century version of the legendary action strategy title set for multiple digital platforms during 2011

Digital publisher Kavcom has announced the licensing of The Bitmap Brothers’ classic action real-time strategy title Z. Kavcom will bring digital download versions of the 2011 version – Z: The Game – to a range of formats including Apple Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, PC, Android devices and Blackberry Tab during 2011.

The 2011 modern reworking of Z: The Game brings with it all of the original’s great tongue-in-cheek humour and addictive real-time strategy gameplay, as well as some major interface improvements for touch-screen devices.

Z: The Game was given 92% and a Classic Award on release in 1996 by PC Zone magazine, which also commented: “It’s a brilliant strategy game. Like Command & Conquer, only harder, more strategic and more intense.” Z: The Game was developed by original creators The Bitmap Brothers (Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe, Xenon) in conjunction with Kavcom and another 1980s programming legend, Peter Harrap (Monty Mole).

“We’re thrilled to be working with The Bitmap Brothers on the fantastic Z: The Game,” said Managing Director of Kavcom, Tony Kavanagh. “Fans of this classic strategy title are in for a real treat – everything is in there, from the terrific comedy cutscenes to the frantic multiplayer mode, and with a much friendlier, intuitive interface. This is going to be the definitive version of Z.”
